Description:
As a Software Testing Engineer you will have the opportunity to work with some of the latest technologies available to market, it is important to show a willingness to learn. The main tasks include:
- Testing of localized products (hardware / software)
- Review English Test Plans / complete Test Cases for applications released on mobile, PC and Internet platforms.
In-Country testing is generally performed on applications and products that are designed to function correctly in the target country or market. Our ICT testers ensure that these function as expected, that they are localised (text reads correctly) and date formats and currencies etc. are correct. There are many other types of specific in-country tests that our teams perform and these were just a few. Most tests are of short duration typically lasting no longer than one (1) to five (5) hours, but some projects may require a few hours more. The work would be on-demand and on a part-time basis. The frequency of projects depends on the testing needs of Lionbridge in that particular country/market and your availability to participate in a project.
The nature of this work is dependent on product release cycles, so there may be times when there is very little work available. You will have the flexibility and freedom to work from your own home, working your own hours, depending on availability of tasks.
Key Skills:
- Native French Speaker with fluency in English (both verbal and written)
- Reporting skills in Word and Excel
- Background in IT or mobile technologies
- Ability to work well on own initiative
- Broadband access and regular computer user
- Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Desirable skills:
- WAP / GPRS / 3G / GPS knowledge
- Software Testing or Help desk background a distinct advantage
- Experience in Hardware configurations
- PC Networking
